For those of you who have used both cloth diapers and regular diapers, which do you prefer?

I love cloth. No diaper rash. No chemicals. Saves so much money. I do use disposable at night and when away from house though just for convienance

We used a cloth diaper service for 1.5 years and have now used disposables for 6 months since he’s been at a preschool that requires them. 
I prefer cloth because:
- it’s easier to tell if he’s wet since you can touch the cloth and tell if he needs changed. Disposables can be hard to tell without taking pants off. 
- cloth is more versatile and useful to help wipe poo off bum, catch a live pee, or clean up any other little messes
- I feel good about it being more earth-friendly and natural against his skin (had no problems with rash etc)
- silly but babies look adorable with colorful cloth diaper covers! Really cute pictures. 
Disposables do have benefits:
- we always use them when we travel because it’s more flexible for packing light and potentially buying more at destination if needed
- less smell in the house because we take to trash more often than diaper service picked up (once/week)
- lessen the cleanup steps for explosions when you don’t have a separate cover to wipe off — however this may just mean more poo gets everywhere else? Possibly this is more of a neutral.

I use cloth diapers when I’m home during the day, but I definitely prefer regular diapers. Cloth diapers sometimes give my son a rash because the only way to make them absorbent enough is by adding inserts, so it makes them bulky and they rub on his boy parts. I only use them because it’s better for the environment, but my regular diapers (Bambo Nature) are a thousand times more absorbent and never leave a rash. They are more natural than most diapers so they don’t have any toxic chemicals, and they decompose faster than most regular diapers, but they’re still not as environmentally friendly as cloth.

I used both and prefer regular diapers bc we do outdoorsy things like backpacks/hiking and whatnot and backpacking with cloth diapers is an absolute fail. If you’re home a lot it might work better for you. I wasn’t a fan bc of our active lifestyle.

Definitely cloth. We don’t like having any harsh chemicals in our house for anything but especially not directly on baby’s skin being absorbed. Same with lotions and soap and things. If you actually look at the ingredients in baby products and what they do to your body you will be shocked. 
Plus it’s cheaper and you never run out. They are adorable and make potty training easier.

Cloth 100%! The convenience of disposables is nice sometimes (I always have a handful at least) but absolutely cloth. Depending on the type of diaper, they can require very little extra prep time. They don't actually need fancy expensive soaps, just a little extra care in the wash. And you will actually touch LESS poop! Leaks only happen if you're not using the diapers properly; either you need more absorbency, your fit is wrong, or you need to change your wash routine. So poop explosions are almost non-existent. And you can buy/make very cheap liners to toss when you DO get a poopy diaper. Or buy a sprayer. My water bill hasn't gone up noticeably at all; I started cloth @ just under 1yr, and my total diaper cost for my daughter was under $500. Not to mention the environmental impact and the chemicals! If you're looking into cloth, I highly recommend Fluff Love University (just Google it) as a resource. They can tell you ALL about pros, cons, regular problems, wash routines, what soaps to use, literally anything you can think of!

I don't have kids but have done my research. Cloth diapers would probably make middle of the night changes really rough. Having to pick out the insert put it in the diaper then put the diaper on and have to struggle to see which snaps are the ones you use or have to remember. At 2am and getting just a few minutes of sleep this is the last thing you want to go through but with disposable you just take it out of the package put it on and you're good to go for the night. Much quicker and less hassle and chances of waking up baby for good.

I've been using cloth since she was 8 months. I love them. I do use disposable at night because she started leaking through all of a sudden! I haven't actually sat there and calculated if the cost of doing more loads of laundry and buying detergent really outweighs the cost, but I feel like we've been saving lol. I always have disposable diapers and wipes on hand, but I even use cloth wipes most of the time, so I feel like I have to be saving something!

So I am pretty much a disposable diaper mom but our little one would wake up wet in the morning so I tried cloth diapers at night (kept her dry) but she smelled so bad in the morning like ammonia it was terrible (i changed her clothes and everything but the stink was still there i had to give her a bath) so I found Huggies over nights help keep her dry and not stinky 💗
