Does always being called “cute” mean you’re not “hot”?

I’m 20 and I always get called “cute” but never really “hot” so I’m just wondering if there’s a difference? I’m starting to think maybe I’m kind of ugly and people call me cute to be nice.

34 and called cute regularly by my SO and others.  He does also call me amazing, beautiful, and peng though lol.  It doesn’t really bother me to be called cute at all.

I get called cute all the time because my personality and looks all together are just “cute” most of the time. But when i want to act hot i can act hot lol (dressing up or while dancing or whatever) And then ill get those compliments along with sexy and gorgeous. It really just depends. But guys tend to call me cute too a lot. Id rather be called that or beautiful and receive a genuine compliment then just “hot.” Its also probably because i look good without trying to look hot... lol and im not a girl who tries hard and guys like that about me

It’s different but not mutually exclusive! My husband has always called me cute - it’s just what he likes to say, or maybe what he likes best about me - but he definitely thinks I’m hot too 😘

I take "cute" as a personality compliment and "hot" as an appearance compliment.
I'm 28 weeks pregnant and get called cute all the time. It's still a compliment. And I still wanna hear it every time. 😁

I prefer being called beautiful. Being called hot just makes me feel uncomfortable. Like I don’t call and have never called a guy hot. It’s just like less meaningful to me idk

I am almost 29 and sometimes get called cute. I’m 5’2” though and I think people think short is cute. Like no thanks people. 😑🙄

I guess it depends on who’s saying it to you, some guys try to be polite so instead of hot they say cute. 
But cute does not equal ugly. And not being called hot also doesn’t equal ugly.
