How did you tell your parents ?

How was it telling your parents you're sexually active ? I want to tell mine but they are going to wonder how is that possible since I'm always with them .. I lost it the day of prom .. I'm so scared telling them :( I'm 18 so you think that's to young ?

I only told my mom because even though we were using condoms I wanted to go on the pill too so I could be extra safe. I was really nervous to tell her but when I did she just kind of laughed and said she thought I'd been having sex for a while. She also told me to just get pregnant because then I'd "have that boy forever".

Obviously she gave horrible advice so it wasn't really in my best interest to tell my mom. Luckily I was smart enough not to listen to her....

I was 18 and first told my mom because I knew I needed to go on birth control. I'm the oldest of four and was terrified. I ended up leaving her a note one day saying we needed to talk about birth control, and that's how the conversation started. It was not easy, but a relief to get it over with.

I didn't go out and tell my mom. she kinda already knew. they're definitely not stupid and know more than you think! but I did tell her when I was ready to get on birth control
