Bleeding/early period?

I’m due for my period in 2 days... I’ve been pretty regular and we just started trying this month. This evening I went to the bathroom and had bright red bleeding. It’s not super heavy, but also not light. My period is not usually like this (being early or the type of blood), so I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this happen? Is this my period just being a little off? Could I be having bleeding and actually be pregnant? I took a test this morning bc my boobs had been sore yesterday and I was hopeful, but it was negative.

With my first pregnancy (it was a surprise) I did have one period, but it was weird... only a few days and was very thick and brownish... not normal at all. Now that we’re trying I have no idea what I’m doing! Thanks in advance ladies!
