Complicated miscarriage - late period

I had a complicated miscarriage about a month ago that resulted in increasing HCG after all indications of miscarriage (leading to a D&C) and now I'm not experiencing any PMS symptoms. I'm rather anxiously awaiting my cycle so we can start trying again. Am I being too sensitive? Should I be concerned that something went sideways somewhere in the there? Thank you!
