How long should I hold my pee before ultrasound?

I’m 19 weeks along and have my mid-pregnancy ultrasound today where (hopefully!!) I’ll find out the gender. I was told to drink lots of water and don’t pee before going in. I was thinking holding it for 2 hours before would be good but I wasn’t given a specific time.

Mines today too! My letter says to drink 500 ml of water and hold it for an hour before the appointment 😊

My OB says bladder has to be empty for both vag & ab ultrasounds. So idk?

My ultrasound lady told me it was pointless to drink all that water as your bladder pushes on the baby and it's harder to get the images she needed, she had me get up to pee before she could finish my scan

Holding it for 2 hours is going to be super uncomfortable, i tried it and wasn't sure i was gonna be able to walk to my vehicle let alone sit through an ultrasound. So i went before we left and drank a bottle and a half on the way to the doctors office (about 15 minutes away) by then my bladder was full enough for the ultrasound and i didn't feel like i was gonna pee all over the tech. (I was 22 weeks and it was for my anatomy scan)

you don’t need to hold your pee after about 10-12weeks of being pregnant

I honestly havent been doing that lmao i just go and they find it cos after 12 weeks your womb is out of your pelvis and they find the baby straight away

Because I live 30 minutes I went pee before leaving and drank water and Gatorade before going in
