What to buy baby for first christmas

My son will be 4 months on 1/1/19 and I have no idea what to get him for Christmas other than clothes, I feel horrible not being able to figure out if I get him toys that he can play with later at 6+ months. I'll still try and find things he can have now, but I'm just not sure what, Any suggestions is much appreciated :) what are you getting your LO for Christmas ?

My daughter will be 5 months Christmas eve we got her a letter mat and balls. We are making a play area for her. We got the mat and the balls for around $13 each.

My baby will be 5 months and i got her teething toy, rattle , books because i read to her everyday, this little drum thing that when you hit it it lights up and makes noise, and a little light up remote that makes noise and teaches her stuff . Pretty much look at any toy that says 6-12 months

Toys that promote sitting up. Like the fisher price shape sorter and ring stacker. He will use these around 6 mo

I really wouldn't stress about it as much. They aren't old enough to really understand and in reality you're not getting them something want you're getting them something you think you'll need for them. If all you get him is a couple outfits I think that'll do just fine.

Thats really young but doesnt hurt to get rattle type toys or stuff for when they are a bit older.

Maybe teething toys since he can start teething soon even at 4 months.

One thing I'm getting my 2 month old is a porcelain piggy bank that has been personalized. As soon as she's sitting up, crawling, we're going to start teaching her about money habits, which at this point is simply recognizing money and where it would go. She won't really understand what it is, but I don't think it's too early to start teaching about it.
