Advice - PCOS (UK only)

So I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS around 18 months ago via blood tests.

I’ve asked for a fertility check earlier this year, results came back invalid as my periods were irregular.

Returned to doctors 2 weeks ago and she advised she would send a referral for an ultrasound to check these cysts(to see how bad they are). Phonecall today from doctor saying referral has been rejected as I’ve not said ‘I’m actively trying for a baby’.

So i mentioned how me and my partner haven’t used contraception in 12 months, never fell pregnant once. She said she could refer me to fertility clinic but my partner would need to give a sperm sample to rule him out as an ‘issue’. He already has a child.

I’m looking for advice as what to do next. It would be good to know if this condition has affected or will affect my fertility?
