When to stop swaddling

When did you stop swaddling baby? How long did it take for them to get used to being "free". Baby's currently 4 months old, not rolling yet but has hit the 4 month sleep regression and I'm over it. Wondering what to do. She seems to think she needs fed to go back to sleep or in her swing. Although she will self settle during the day at nap time just fine. thought maybe Letting her arms free to pet her hair and suck her hands which sooth her. ( She's in an arm's up swaddle so does this but with limited mobility) i know she's not actually hungry cuz I can put her in the swing or hold her and she falls asleep without the bottle. Tried to calm her then put her in her bed and she's screaming bloody murder if I'm not holding her. Tried waiting it out with her, going in every 10 mins to sooth her n show her she's not alone. Even just sitting in there with her. No luck. Ended up in the swing for the night and slept 5 hrs in it.
