Newborn “over-eating”?

Ho

My baby is 2 weeks old. I care for him through the night and the majority of the day. He eats 3 ounces and is content for up to 3 hours each time I feed him. Whenever my boyfriend feeds him, (evening time between 7 pm and 10:30 pm while I nap, baby will eat 4 oz in one feeding and will easily eat 2 or 3 more an hour later. Tonight he swears to me that he ate about 9 oz in a 3 hour period. Is it possible that my baby is overeating because he’s away from me? I usually hear of the opposite happening when mom is gone. He wouldn’t take this much if I were the one feeding him

Side note: Yes I realize you can’t overfeed a baby. Our pediatrician said it’s okay if he eats a ton as long as he’s not spitting it all up, just curious to hear from other people
