I don’t see why men get to pass their names on to their children (both first and last!) but it’s considered strange for a girl to have the same or a similar name as her mom. I say if you like the name go for it!

I love the name Jessa! But my brother named his son Jesse and our sister is Jessica. I don’t think Jessie/Jessa are a bad combo but it might be a little bit of a tongue twister if that makes sense.
