Has anyone had Cryotherapy on cervix before?

Doctor said I have a high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HGSIL) which means severe changes to the cells on cervix. (left untreated, these cells changes can lead to cervical cancer.)

I have to get a procedure called cryotherapy to remove these cells. Cryotherapy is done by freezing off sections of the cervix that contain the abnormal cells AKA it sounds terrifying!

Has anyone had this done before? Is it painful? How long does recovery take?
