0 sperm count
My husband had cancer when he was young and has been worried about how the chemo/radiation may have affected his fertility as it reached his abdomen and pelvic area as a kid. Well, we went to a fertility clinic today and got some bad results - there were no sperm at all in the sample. Zero. They said not to worry yet, they want to do blood work and see if maybe there are some salvageable sperm in the tissue. I feel as though that's not a likely chance for his history. It seems more realistic our only choices are adoption or a sperm donor if we want to raise kids. Has anyone been in this situation? In a way I feel like it's selfish of me to want to have one of my own and not have my husband's genes a part of the make up. I feel like it should be either our genes or neither and we should adopt. For anyone who has had to choose between one or the other - how did you do it?
