Any tips on saving for a home?

Me and my hubby have a 9m old baby and are expecting baby #2 on Aug 2019. We were thinking that renting sucks you pay a bunch of money and at the end the home is not even yours. So we want to get our own place at least a 3 bed 2 bath... We live in SC any Tips on saving?

I live in SC too and recently purchased a condo with my SO :) 
I think my biggest tip would just be to save, save, save and DO NOT settle for a home you don’t love.... think about what you’ll do with it after you’ve outgrown it too (sell, rent, etc)

The minute I get my pay check I transfer money into my savings. This way i don’t really even notice its gone. 
I had a really hard time saving bc I was nervous I would run out of money before my next pay check. But since taking it right off the top I’ve been able to save like $2,000 in 2 months 
Now I do not have any children to care for so that extra expense I’m sure will make it harder but the best thing I’ve done is just take it out right away so I don’t really know it’s there.

Currently in the process of moving into our first home ❤ stop eating out and drinking coffee out. Be as frugal as you can especially for babies they can be so expensive if you over spend. We cut off cable and wifi because we decided it wasnt necesary and wed rather have a house.im having our third baby im 36 weeks move in date will be at end of january

As soon as money comes in I take $100 from it and put it in savings. I don’t have access to the card and I can only transfer money in. My grandma has my card so I don’t spend it. In 4 months I have $2500. I have a 4 year old and a 8 month old but I make it work! Yes it’s hard because I know I have that $2500 sitting there but it’s my moving fund and my backup fund because I’m on maternity leave. After very carefully budgeting I usually have $700 left over at the end of the month that I barely touch that I have access to. I basically live on my mat pay and child support which covers food, diapers, formula and expenses.
