Baby shower anxiety?

Question

Did anyone have anxiety about their showers? Ours is coming up and I'm not a very center-of-attention person. I'm happy to celebrate and see friends ( we moved recently and this is in the town we lived in for years before) but my family has not been the most easy and supportive to be around and I'm feeling a lot of anxiety. Any tips? What did you all do to make yourselves more comfortable if you were nervous?

I hate the attention all on me as well, and I'm not the best person to go around and have a conversation w everyone (like a good host) and I'm already dreading all the pictures everyone will wanna take. anxiety is a bitch 😫

I was nervous about being the center of attention the whole time but everyone at my shower mingled pretty well. With the exception of my MIL and GMIL. They were slightly standoffish and definitely put a damper on things for me but I’m over it because I’m excited for the baby and I don’t think my friends noticed or cared about their behavior that much. So overall it went well even with flukes and I’m sure yours will too! 😁

This was actually the first get together lately where I have stayed super hands off...and it really did help. I was still anxious about my mother in law and some of my husbands family. I really do love them, but they stress me out to no end. So it was nice to at least not worry that all the food would be good and prepped on time and the house would be clean and whatnot. Good luck! Maybe try delegating...and then really stay out of those decisions....easier said than done :)

Same. I am kind of a control freak so planning this is stressing me out, my husband is really laid back too so I’m on my own 😂

I'm super anxious about it too. I'm fhe same way, I dont like the center of attention unless in making the room laugh. Good luck, lol, that's all I got.

I didn’t like the attention either but I focused on one or two friends that I hadn’t seen in awhile and was excited to see. That made me happy in the lead-up to the shower
