First Pregnancy. Doctor doesn’t want to see me.

I just found out on Tuesday we’re expecting our first baby. By my cycle it shows I should be 5 weeks and 5 days. I called my doctor to make my first appt and she told me she didn’t want to see me until JANUARY 11th! I am freaking out. No checking my Hcg levels?! No checking to make sure everything is ok. Is this normal?!
