To swaddle or not from birth?

Most babies find comfort in being all snuggled up in a swaddle blanket so it’s feels like they’re still inside. And some babies enjoy the freedom. My daughter had to have both arms out the swaddle or she would bawl her eyes out! But she loved her legs being swaddled! You’ll figure out what your baby prefers!

Mine couldn’t stand it in the beginning, we’d swaddle her with her arms out, and then we realized her startle reflex was keeping her awake and we started with her arms in. She cried right away but would calm down after a minute or two and it helped her stay asleep.

Definitely try it. In the hospital and maybe the first couple weeks we did it then after she just wasn’t having it anymore. I think she just got more comfortable being out in the world lol

You can only swaddle for so long so that's not something you wait weeks or months to start doing lol our daughter was only swaddled from 0-3 months and then she started rolling and it became dangerous. So yes, you swaddle from the get-go. There's no reason not to.
