Can I eat canned smoked oysters?

I'm really craving smoked oysters &I I bought some while I was at Walmart. I'm 8 months pregnant. Will it in any way effect the baby? I've heard any kind of sea food is a no no but I'm not sure! Please help so if not I can dig in!! 😓

I do once in a while. A tiny can with some crackers and apples with cheese isn't going to hurt me much once in a while.

It's not true that you can't eat any kind of seafood but I think smoked anything is a no-no because it hasn't been heated thoroughly enough. You're not supposed to eat anything raw, seared, smoked or fish that are high in Mercury. It's actually recommended to eat fish high in omega 3 during pregnancy. I've never heard anything negative about cooked shellfish.

You can! I’ve eaten a lot of seafood (lobster,crab,shellfish, certain fish), I’ve just avoided tuna and fish high in mercury. I’ve even eaten salmon sushi twice, but I completely trusted the restaurant’s “quality and freshness” standards (whatever the correct term for that is lol)

I ate sushi with smoked salmon when I was pregnant with my daughter, not often mind you, and she came out just fine and it didn't cause any issues while carrying her!

Seafood with high Mercury is bad for pregnancy. Look on google for the Mercury of it & see if it's high in Mercury.
