Should I open the message???

Question

My husband works in a club. He was finishing at 1am. He was there with mates after having a drink and that's cool it opens until the early hours. However, he came home at 5am.
This morning he is in bed and his phone is at the side of him with a message flashed up from a girl we both know that says "yes, I'm looking at it now. Sorry when do you need it"

So two things - they have either gone back to hers (and quite possibly a few of them she lives on her own and has parties sometimes), or she's taken something of his by mistake and has it. I think I know what it is and it's not a big deal.

So now I'm torn. Do I wait for him to get up and tell me about the night or do I read this message in case it is incriminating before he has a chance to delete it??

You know your husband. No one else can tell you what's right.  In my relationship I would open it but he would never get mad because he knows how I am. We also do not have trust issues. I have all passwords to everything as does he.  So everything is open. My husband would open my messages. Idk.  When he wakes up say hey. So n so text you. N see where it goes from there.

Wow.... I would hate to have someone distrust me so much that they look at my phone when I'm sleeping. If my husband's phone goes off I wait until he wakes up. If it bothers me that's badly I say hey I saw so and so texted you, is everything ok with her?

Marriage is all about trust. You should be able to trust him enough to know that it's nothing, and trust that he will.tell the truth when asked about it. But don't go snooping through his phone.

If it was me, I wouldn't read it because then he'd know and get mad. I would just mention to him that I accidentally saw it pop up, then he would probably explain it on his own. The way she said it, it sounds innocent, like she's kind of formal about it and not overly familiar. I'm sure it's nothing. I know what you mean though, stuff like that bothers me and if you don't like him staying out hat late I'd def talk to him or ask him where he went
