Too common/popular?

Question

The name Jesse has a popularity of #186 as of 2018. If I’m wanting a name I don’t hear too often, should I scrap the name if it has this number? I don’t really hear the name where I live very often but I know it’s different in other areas. What do you think?

It was common for our generation but I don’t know if any younger kids with that name. Either way, if you like it go with it.

I liked the name Jesse (also Riley) and my husband liked the name Jessica.  
When we found out we were having a girl, we named her Jessalyn 😊

I think it’s popular for people in their 20s, maybe 30s but I have yet to meet one child with the name. I only know one Jessie and he’s 26.

Nowadays a lot less people percentage-wise hold the top names. For example (not real stats just an example) in 1960, 30% of all boys had one of the top 10 names, whereas now 5% do. Point being, you probably won't hear it often! 
All that being said, I personally still steered clear of any names in the top 500 but that's just me! 😆
