Can Long Distance Relationships work??

I’ve been texting and talking to a guy I’ve known for like forever but recently reconnected but he’s about 70 miles away. Despite not seeing each other for years we’ve already said we love each other. My mom says long distance never works and it’s a waste of time but he and I think it’s possible to make this work. We’re wanting to plan a date this holiday weekend but my mom is so negative about it. And FYI I’m not a teenager but I live with my parents and my moms super religious strict. So she’s making life hell. So basically my question is are long distance relationship worth the investment and how do I deal with my moms negative and show her he’s a great guy???

Yes absolutely. My husband an I were long distance for 3 years. We just moved in together 2 months ago. He lived in a totally different county from me and we had to go through the entire immigration process. We spoke everyday, had movie night and sometime we would eat dinner together via FaceTime. It wasn’t easy but we made it work. Goodluck!

Yes! My bf at the time and I did long distance for a year and a half. I was in CO and he was in NC. He is now my husband and we are happily married so of course they can work! Communication is key though

Honestly 70 miles isn’t a lot at all. You can do a day trip just to see them. To me that’s not really long distance. 
But, they do work. My husband and I did 5 years of long distance when we were dating. We were across the country from each other (at one point in different countries too) and saw each other for a week every 4-6 months (sometimes longer- I think we went a full year without seeing each other once). We’re now married with two kids and another on the way. We’re incredibly happy and have been together a total of 16 years.

70 miles is not long distance. I have employees who commute to work from an hour to an hour and a half way so one of you could easily move to the other or find a place in between. It can work since it’s so close my husband and I started dating and he lived 3 1/2 hours away.

They can work if you’re both truly invested. But I would definitely spend some time together soon to make sure this connection really is what you think it is.

I am from California . My fiancé moved back to Israel. During our time apart and no longer living together .... I have visited 5 times in the last 2 years. We will be going back to California again soon. 
It’s definitely a hard thing to be apart, but love will take you places. 
Distance is never an issue. 
It’s the effort that both of you will have to put in to make it work.

If both of you work for it then yea. Both of you needs to be willing to travel for each others. And trust each others.

Yes they can. My boyfriend is almost 200 miles away and we're doing great. It takes patience and trust but any relationship takes those things. You just have to make it a priority to communicate and try to see each other as much as possible.
