Does your baby use a dummy/pacifier?

I’ve just started giving a dummy to my baby and just interested as to how many other people are. I know some people aren’t keen on the idea but it’s been brilliant for us!

My LO will sometimes take it at night while she’s fighting her sleep...but most of the time she spits it out. We never use it during the day

Attempting to avoid it. About to wean our two year old of his paci and don’t want to make it harder than necessary...wish me luck. On both fronts!!!

Babies have a natural sucking reflex that soothes them and pacis are INCREDIBLY helpful when they’re going through a leap or a growth spurt and ACT hungry. Or at least it’s helped us. Vaeda will act hungry during these times almost immediately after feeding so I know she’s not hungry (trust me, I’ve given in only to have a very overfed and uncomfortable and now gassy infant on my hands for several hours), or just needs that extra comfort during those leaps and spurts. She just really wants to self soothe herself. Plus it reduces the risk of SIDS. I’m all for them! But I get the reasons some people aren’t. Just do what works for you and baby!

My lil one doesn’t really care for a pacifier we’ve tried all types and shapes. I think she knows no food comes from it so it’s useless to her lol. Will try later one to see if one works.

My baby loooooves her pacifiers haha. We were using it for the first 2 weeks before our doctor said pacifiers shouldn’t be used until at least a month old but by then it was impossible to take them away. Shes 3 and a half weeks and almost always has a paci

Just stared yesterday as baby began using me as a pacifier and wanting to “eat” every 45 minutes all. Night. Long.

Only use it occasionally to help my LO doze off. He usually spits it out after a few minutes. Was not planning on using it at all but have found it super helpful when he’s extra fussy.

I put no but it’s not because I won’t give her one. She won’t take it! So frustrating because I’m her pacifier and I can’t have her on my boob all the time. My oldest didn’t take one either. She would sometimes but it was hit or miss and now she’s almost 2 and only uses one for bed.

My LO has a love/hate relationship with her pacifier. I just read that if used while sleeping it reduces the chance of SIDS.
