When can I have sex?

Are you supposed to wait to have sex until you are cleared by the doctor, or can you just get down to business at 6 weeks? My appointment isn’t until 6.5 weeks, so just wondering if I have to wait until then or if I can just do it before she checks me out.

Wait until you’re cleared. Your cervix could still be open and there’s a pretty large wound from the placenta so it’s a combo for a potentially nasty infection

I had sex 3 weeks after my c-section. If you’re ready-go for it 🤷🏾‍♀️. If you experience pain then change positions or stop and try in another day or so. Set your own timeline. That 6 week “rule” is broad to cover the many complications a woman can having during birth...it’s not specific to every woman as an individual.

I would say from personal experience you should be fine but no guarantees. I had sex one day before my 6 weeks and had no repercussions, at my check up I didn’t even really get checked per say it was more ask a couple questions, fill out some papers, show off bub and leave 🤷🏼‍♀️
