Plus Size + Pregnant + Water Birth = ???

Question

I weigh anywhere from 220 to 250 I havent checked in a while. I recently discovered I was pregnant and have always dreamt of a water birth.. do I have a chance or will doctors tell me no.. any advice is welcome.

I have a midwife and she is amazing, I HIGHLY recommend midwives ☺️ however, I would advise against a water birth.. simply for the fact that if anything goes wrong (even slightly) you will need to get a C-section immediately as there’s water in the canal and can harm your baby. A lot of doctors/midwives have different opinions, but if you truly want to do a water birth, find a specialist who has an abundance of knowledge and has done it before 😊 good luck!

If they say no, find a new doctor! I know this is a reason many women choose to birth at home with a midwife. As long as you’re in good health, your size shouldn’t dictate how you birth!
