Opk confusion

So I'm kind of confused. My OB/GYN told me to start using an opk so I ordered a box of easy@home. I've heard people say that it doesn't work when you have PCOS and I've heard others say it works like a charm. What does this mean? Does it mean it's not working? My last period was 11/26 and it lasted until 12/3. I've been testing everyday, sometimes twice a day. Is the increase supposed to be this gradual and inconsistent?
