I got out of a 2 year relationship earlier this year. It ended with me get beat up and put in the hospital. Fast forward to now, I’ve had counselling and still am. But learned that I’ve never actually experienced a real relationship, my ex worked on the rigs and would be gone all the time so it wasn’t everyday. Now I have met this man and we’ve been talking for almost a month. He’s the kindest man I’ve ever met and we have a connection. He has a son that I haven’t met yet and he hasn’t asked me to be his girlfriend. I’m not sure how dating works these days. I have been feeling a little anxious recently because everyone keeps asking if he’s my boyfriend. Or if we are official, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what to do. Also he is going to finish school in the new year for 2 months and has said he will only see me 3 or 4 times which he gets his son everyother weekend for these 2 months (normally a week on week off) so I’m wondering if I will get to meet his son. He’s said that he doesn’t introduce people to his kid until he knows they’re solid because he gets attached.
