When does the startle reflex stop?

My son keeps swinging his left arm in his sleep which wakes him up. Or when he is tired he wriggles or kicks his legs violently which again prevent him from sleeping. Swaddling is the only solution. When will this stop? He is 4mo

Between 4-6 months some can go longer but thats the average.

Both my older kids kicked their arms and legs and rolled around while they slept until 5 yrs they still roll around and they are now 11 and 7. It depends on the child
