Wanting a vaginal birth

Anna

I don’t know if this is the right room to post this, if not let me know and I will take it down / move it.

So I am 5’4 and weighed 106 lbs before pregnancy (Currently 137). I’m a fairly petite person and this is my first pregnancy. My doctor checked my pelvic bone when I was about 15 weeks along and said it was completely normal. I’m currently about 1 cm dilated at 38 weeks.

Anyway, all this is to say I’m pretty small and I’m sick of people telling me that because of my size I am going to end up having a c section.

At the beginning of my pregnancy I was able to brush these comments off, especially since my doctor told me that by all indications I should have a completely safe vaginal birth. But now it seems like every time I talk about anything regarding labor to my family the conclusion is “well it doesn’t matter, you’ll just end up with a c section” even to the point where they told me not to buy postpartum supplies since “nothing will have happened down there”

Sorry this is turning into a rant! More than anything I guess I’m looking for advice and maybe some success stories? I really want to have this baby vaginally and wish I was getting encouragement from family instead of being disregarded.
