Lip tie?
Im not even sure where to post this but I’m in a breastfeeding group on Facebook and they post a lot about lip ties. It almost seems as though they want babies to have them so they can tell them what to do. I’m probably being paranoid and too annoyed by it. I know they want to help but I feel like if I send pictures to them they’ll just say he has them even if he really doesn’t and I don’t want to have an unnecessary procedure done if he doesn’t have one.
We haven’t had a bunch of issues breastfeeding besides having a rough start the first week with my nipples being sore. Every now and again now it hurts just a little especially if I feed him in the middle of the night and he doesn’t latch correctly but nothing unbearable. At three months he wasn’t gaining weight properly because he just did not want to eat for long stretches of time. I had to pump to have a let down just for him to eat and now at his 6 month appointment the pediatrician said he wasn’t gaining the way he should be and fell completely off the chart. I have a schedule with his regular pediatrician to see what she thinks about his weight gain, but some people in the group said maybe he has a tongue or lip tie. But they also said most pediatricians aren’t trained in ties

It’s a very bad picture but does this look like a tie? Were 6 months into breastfeeding but will it effect our big relationship later in? And does anyone have any experience with a tie and not getting it revised?
