Spelling of “Lee” for girl’s middle name?

My husband’s parents both have the middle name Lee. He wants to use this as our baby’s middle name if we have a girl. However, I like the spelling Leigh better for a girl. He says then the baby wouldn’t be truly named after them. I think the spelling doesn’t matter since we still use it after them. What do you think?

My middle name is Leigh and my husbands middle name is Lee. Either way it is pronounced the same. My mom picked Leigh because she felt it was more feminine. Just talk it out and see who is willing to compromise on the spelling.

I like Leigh in general but I'm biased because it's my dad's name so it will be my son's middle name. However, if you're naming her after the name Lee, just stick with that spelling.
