Are you sending out birth announcements?

And by this I mean in the mail, not a social media post. I’d love to hear why or why not.

Yes, I enjoy getting them from my friends. We won’t be posting photos of our son on social media so we want to be able to share with our family and close friends.

I had newborn photos taken and sent mailed announcements.  Every part of it was time consuming and expensive but so happy I did.  I love the photos and sharing them with family and close friends!  It feels like an old fashioned tradition I appreciate and think is special - similar to a handwritten and mailed thank you note!

Personally think it’s a waste of time & money. I wouldn’t do social media post either. 
Our families are both equally too big to do that by mail & they all have big mouths so news travels fast. All I have to do is tell my MIL, problem solved. Everyone knows.

We will send cards just because we like the tradition of it. It will go to our aunts/uncles immediate family and close friends.

Definitely not lol I said maybe bug it's a no for sure. My friends and family are all over the world so first I'd have to track them down and second it's just a pain to send internationally. So if I do make announcements it will be social media and emails, just like our wedding invitations lol

Nope. I’m not a card person at all though. I’d honestly rather even just do digital invites for my shower too. 
I’ll just do a social media post when I get around to it. The people who really need to know will be at the hospital because we will call them. Everyone else can find out when they find out. Lol.

I wanted to but I have such a large family it would have been $100 in stamps alone. Plus with a newborn making them/ordering, packaging, labeling, and sending out is just to time consuming

I’ll be sending out about 25 to close family and friends.  I also will frame one and hang it in the hall by my girls’ room.  I have my oldest daughters announcement hanging in a beautiful frame.  It’s a nice keepsake.

I don't have an extra penny to spare although it would be cute to have done. My dad's side of the family hasn't asked me once how I am doing, talked to me or officially congratulated me (after being in the hospital multiple times even) so I don't think even deserve to know. Mothers side is mostly passed away. The one member that's still here will be there shortly after the birth. Husbands side is kind of like my dad's side as far as lack of communication and general "care". 
Everyone who has shown any intrest is on my Facebook and will see pictures that way.
Maybe if my family were closer and/or still alive I'd consider it.
