First yeast infection?

Question

I’ve never had a yeast infection before, but I’ve been on antibiotics for a tooth abscess and since yesterday I’ve noticed cottage cheese like discharge and itching. No burning during urination. I didn’t notice the discharge until after sex yesterday. Would this likely be a yeast infection? Since Christmas is right around the corner, I don’t know if I’ll be able to get in to my ob to get checked out but I’m kind of nervous. Thanks!

Ive only had 2 in my life and thats because of antibiotics as well. The only reason I really know I have one is I will have unbearable itching. You dont have to bother going to the doctor or worrying. You can get a treatment off the shelf of a pharmacy or walmart. And it will be better in no time.

Yes, sounds like a yeast infection. U can buy Monistat at any pharmacy, Walmart, etc. I recommend the 7 day treatment as it typically works better. That said, it may be best to wait until u finish taking all of the antibiotics since that’s what likely caused it in the first place.

I would pick up some monistat. Be sure to wear a pad as what goes up, must come down. 
Trouble with antibiotics is they don’t just target the “bad” bacteria. They knock out both the good and bad. Yeast is a part of your normal flora, or habitat. When antibiotics do their job, they’re killing the bacteria that keeps that yeast from growing like wildfire. As you can tell, that’s likely what caused it.
With that said, look into consuming yogurt that contains live cultures, and consider a probiotic. That’ll help you keep that balance in place.
