How can you tell if someone loves you?

I'm curious and unsure. I'm too immature to know.

Honestly for me and my husband it's many things that make me realize he loves me. He's always wanting to hold/touch me. He does things for me before I even have to ask, he always thinks of me, i.e bringing me something home or doing chores without me asking, when times are hard he'll sit down and we'll just talk and talk. More than anything tho, it's the way he looks at me. I can see it in his eyes. Everyone else can see it to. When someone loves you you'll know it. Sometimes it's not something you can describe to someone else. You just feel it.

How they treat you when life is shit. It's easy to be sweet and nice when life is sunshine and rainbows. How do they treat you when things are bad? Are they still respectful? Honest and trustworthy? Love is a verb more than some lofty feelings. There's a difference between loving someone and just loving what they bring to your life and do for you.  Trust the way someone treats you.
