Be Gentle, You’re Doing Great

Society has us ladies screwed over from the start. There is pressure to be “it all”, even when nurturing a child. You see posts on social media of beautiful pregnant ladies and unrealistic postpartum bodies. You see pictures of perfectly sleeping babies, clean homes and freshly brewed coffee.

And you bite your lip and fight the tears as you realize it’s 2:30 in the morning, your are struggling to understand your babies cues and your milk is coming in so everything hurts. You have to be careful because you had stitches and so bending over and sitting down have become small victories. And to top it all off, your starving and can’t figure out how to find time to eat.

Mama, be gentle with yourself. Be kind. 💕

You have done an amazing job bringing a child into the world. Screw the pressure to bounce back, to get back into the gym, to even get out of your pjs. This is a precious time.

In time, things will be better. The routine will happen. The stitches will be gone, you’ll be able to have great sex again. Your baby will sleep through the night. You will find time to eat, and your life will become easier than it may be right now.

So for now, be gentle with yourself. You’re doing SO GOOD 💕
