35 weeks baby measuring small?

Has anyone experienced baby measuring small at 35 weeks? They are saying the belly is smaller. I’m freaking out.

I’ve been having growth scans since 20 weeks because my baby has been measuring 2-3 weeks behind, mainly her belly. At 37 weeks she was estimated 6 pounds 10 oz and we “graduated” from the specialist. I never found out why she was measuring small, There weren’t any cord or placenta issues. She’s just small 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m 38+4 today and they are inducing me on Sunday. I’ll be 39 weeks, they didn’t want me to go over my due date just in case there is any kind of growth restrictions.

Don’t freak out! I just had an appt (29w1d) and they said her abdomen was measuring in the 8th percentile. All of her other measurements were within normal ranges, so they think she might just be small. The doctor said they’d only be worried if ALL of her measurements were super small. Then she might not be getting enough oxygen, nutrients, etc. Don’t stress! ❤️

It’s normal to measure up to two weeks behind or ahead. It’s not really an exact science, and how you’re carrying can affect your measurements. I was measuring behind at 28 weeks and my OB told me as long as I had grown by my next appointment she was not concerned. Sure enough, I was still measuring “behind” but had grown 2cm. I’m carrying very low so it’s hard for them to actually find the bottom of my uterus. My SIL measured behind her entire pregnancy and my niece was 8 lbs at birth 🤷🏼‍♀️ They can do an ultrasound to check on growth if your doc or you are very concerned.

Once you get to a certain point, you might start measuring big or small. If they're really worried, they'll do a scan. But that's why some babies come out 6lbs and some come out 10lbs. Individual genetics start to take over closer to delivery.
