Hoping for answers

Well it’s been a full year if TTC and no luck. I have irregular AF so it’s hard to tell when I ovulate. I track but I have missed it several times. Hoping the doctor can help me. I see him January 9th. What usually happens when you see the doctor for fertility? Do they typically run blood tests? And my husband, what will my doctor look into for him?
