Labor medicine options?

I am going to try to have a natural birth, but I don’t know all my options.  I’m aware of the epidural and I strongly am against it.  Are there any nurses or anyone out there that knows other safe meds that are options for labor?  I’m due in 3W1D.

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas. Great option with no side effects for the baby. And the moment you take off the mask the effects stop, so you can choose to only use it as needed.

I was against the epidural but I didn’t like how the gas and air made me feel light headed and weird tbh. So after 3 hours of unbearable pain I had the epidural because the midwives advised me it was the best thing to do, I was induced and they said that the pain would only get worse and it was the best decision I made. It did t work properly anyway 🙄 I felt every single stitch from my episiotomy 😩

At my hospital, we offer either stadol, which is an IV narcotic, or the epidural. The stadol is only ok at best in early labor, and it does sedate the baby. I’ve heard about women loving the pudendal block, but not many OBs are familiar with them anymore.

My hospital offers nubane through an IV or an epidural. If you’re wanting to go natural though that means no medication

I want to go as natural as possible and I’m interested in nitrous for pain since it’s control by me
