I’ve been trying to commit to who’s last name our son should get. He’s threatened to make me raise him on my own if we don’t work out, terminate his rights, and to email him when the baby’s born, etc. Those threats were made after I caught him cheating on me when I was 1 month pregnant. Those words were said immediately after catching him and at 7 months pregnant when I bought up my depression from the cheating. I’ve been severely depressed for the past 9 months about it and am just now coming out the funk since our son will be here in roughly 2-3 weeks. Coming from a single parent home those were traumatizing words to hear. I want to give him my last name because someone that can easily say they’re going to ditch their child don’t deserve to share the same last name. It’s not a family name. I’m not married and he will be with me always. I’m not willing to hyphenate or give him both last names. I want him to have ONE last name.

Also I chose his first name and the name the father likes would be his middle name. I hate the name he chose so now I’m considering just choosing his whole 3 names myself because I don’t know if this guy is really going to be the father he should be or just disappear. Input on that would also be nice in the comments.
