Coming off the pill

So I have done some research as to why my period hasn't come yet, I was on the pill and stopped taking it after my last pack had my "period" and haven't had it sense. I have been getting negative pregnancy test. Is possible that I haven't ovulated yet and that's why it hasn't come so I might still get pregnant ?? I'm on cycle day 40 today. Im I out or do I just sit around and wait for my period to come or not to come ??
