Did your doctor inform you normal birth control may cause...

Alyssa

I honestly think it's a little strange how nowadays so many people have trouble with infertility. I'm sure back in the day it happened. But not as often, even if compared proportionally to population. I have a friend and I knew from before that she was on the shot. And she recently switched to the pill. And she told me that she was recently diagnosed with hormonal imbalance. So I was curious and searched if there could be a correlation between the two. Now, this post is mostly directed towards woman who plan to have kids in the future. So I read that there is. Apparently putting synthetic hormones in your system can throw off your hormones in your system and even after getting off bc it can be very hard for your body to balance it again. So its almost like your body still won't allow you to get pregnant even if you're no longer on bc. They can also affect your thyroid. Even the non hormonal iud.

I have views on the holistic side a little, so this is why I never was okay with putting synthetic hormones in my system. But now I have two kids. My best shot is the nonhormonal iud. And I really hope it works for me. I read it can still throw off your hormones but I can't have any more kids for now. Hopefully I can have one more in the future.

But for now this is my route.

I simply made this post so that people can research more and make a more informed choice. Even if you decide to get a hormonal bc. It was still your choice. I really dislike when doctors either dont research themselves enough or just go by what other doctors do and reccomend certain things that may have long term side effects and don't inform patients accurately. So you're not actually given a choice.

I'm sure there are many people who would make a different choice after knowing all the facts but were misled by biased information.
