I’m not asking for anyone to tell me exactly what could happen in this situation, but any lawyers or something that could give me some insight would be VERY helpful if I were to move forward with a lawsuit.. I don’t want to waste my Time and money consulting a lawyer if it won’t get anywhere.

So long story short, I bought a house from a guy. he was very unprofessional. We asked that he fix a lot of problems with the house before we move in and he said we would.

-The leaking sink

-mold under the sink

-water damage on ceilings

he said the air conditioner was in great condition.

we moved in, and the sink was still leaking. He fixed the floor under the sink but not the leak so it just created more mold and the floor fell through. still water damage.

I was 6 months pregnant in the 100+ degree weather and the air conditioner completely BROKE. it was working when we bought the place but he basically just put coolant into the air conditioner temporarily and we had to wait 4 weeks to put in a whole new air conditioner, thousands of dollars, a 6 month pregnant lady sleeping in the 90 degree house on the floor in the basement.

And a while later he tried saying he was going to SUE us for not switching one of the billing address for our bills right away.

Then today I was doing a little research and apparently this guy was put into to jail 2 years ago for embezzling $800,000.

is it worth it to try to get money from this guy?

I know this isn’t the right place to be asking this kind of stuff but if anyone thinks it’s worth it I’m going to try to get money from this guy because he made pregnancy so much harder for me and turns out he’s just a bad guy 😠

Edit- thanks guys. we did have an inspection and they said everything was fixed but we moved in and it wasn’t. I believe this is all documented but I’ll probably just let it go. thanks for the help
