How much did you pay for your first car?

I have $1400 saved up after I get my next check.. I just don't know if that will give me a decent car.  And I don't really want to spend to much on my first car.. so what do you guys think? And how much was your first car?

My first car was 94 maxima for $1,000 with no issues 
Second car was a 2002 Sebring for $2500 with tons of issues 
Third car was a 2004 Jeep doe $1,000 with no issues 
Current car I bought a brand new 2018 ecosport for $17,000 with $330 payments $1,500 should be able to get you a good car . Remember for every year old the car is multiply it be 12 and it shouldn’t have more than that many miles . 
Example if it’s a 2004 it’s almost 15 years old so it shouldn’t have more than 180,000 miles

I’ve only bought one out right. It was a 96 Audi A4. I was so proud of it because I bought it myself, and it was $2500. It was a fucking lemon and awful car I suffered with before I leased my third car. Just be careful and make sure you account for repairs and how much they will cost. Every time something broke on the car it was at least over $400.

My first was a 2008 cobalt my mom handed down to me when she got a new car. I took over the payments at $250 a month. Literally the day after I paid it off I traded it in for my current car, a 2010 Toyota Matrix that we just paid off in January. It was $15,500.

My first car was $400! Was supposed to be $500 but my atm limit was $400 and the guy said he'd take it! But my dad is a mechanic so he fixed it up for me and it was a great little car for a few years until I started working full time and needed an upgrade!
