Advice needed!! Tubes getting tied & caring for baby

Hello ladies!! My 4th was born on the 26th of NOV. I am due to get my tubal ligation in a week. Has anyone gone thru this already? If so how did you care for your newbornduring recovery? Should i ask hubby to take a day (or 2 or 3) off??? I am not quite sure what to expect!! Any advice would be amazing!!
