Super random question - but really need advice!

My husband is a chef from Italy with 12+ years experience. He finally received his new work authorization card after his old one expired.

We moved to a new city and he needs to find a new job. He received a response to one application (great pay and location!). He has a phone interview tomorrow set up regarding the position.

He is so good at his job and has great experience - he is more than qualified for the job BUT he is nervous about the phone interview.

He understands and communicated great in English, but we are now in a Southern state where the accents are strong/different than what he is used to & being on the phone may make it difficult to understand.

Should he mention in the beginning of the conversation that he may have a difficult time understanding some on the phone to set the tone for the conversation (so the guy doesn’t speak a mile a minute) or just let it go and hope it goes well?
