STD testing ???

I got my blood work done with my exam and they tested for every std except herpes. Do I need to ask to be tested for this? I thought they did it automatically?

From what I know they cant test for it unless you are showing symptoms (sores) and then they can swab them to see if it is. I wanted to get tested for it a couple years ago and they said they can't and to go back if I ever noticed any sores and then they can test for it.

You definitely have to ask as herpes isn’t a routine test they automatically test for unless you have symptoms

I thought they automatically did it too but my Dr said they only do it if asked .. at least at my Drs office
