When is it appropriate to have a baby?

My boyfriend and I have been together officially for 9 months now but have known each other for 2 years. I am 19 going on 20 and he is going on 22. I know he’s the man I’m going to marry. We are looking for a place together and everything. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE keeps asking us when we are going to have a baby. Honestly, I’m ok with having a baby now. I personally think I’m ready to take on that responsibility, but My boyfriend on the other hand seems a bit more hesitant on that thought but then again if it happened I think he’d be ok. I really don’t wanna feel pressured into it but honestly with all the talk it’s really making me want one 😓😅. Baby fever is unreal and idk. Thoughts?

To be honest, I'm on your boyfriends side on this one. You guys are still young and haven't been together for very long.

I would wait. Move in together first. Enjoy life for a moment as a couple living together and adulting. Get your bills and finances in order together. Maybe get a pet. You’re both young; there’s no rush.

Whenever you’re both ready (ie financially and emotionally mature enough) You are both young anyway. Plus you’ve been together less than a year.

You're looking for a place still, so I feel now isn't a good time. The relationship seems to soon to me as well. Some people stay together when they know it's the one early on and some don't. A baby is a life time commitment and I think it would be best to at least get a place, check your budgets, and just really get to know each other while living together first before deciding on whether or not to add a little one into the mix.

You do you boo, but make sure you’re ready to commit to always being occupied. I personally would wait till you get a place together and live the couple life doing whatever you want but also preferably getting your financial stuff taken care of. You have to make sure that you are financially stable before having kids bc they are expensive as hell. But if you both are ready then I’d say go for it. Just make sure that BOTH of you agree to have a child, if you have to persuade him, then he isn’t ready and just wait for a bit

I planned my first at 17. And my second at 19. Me and my bf were ready. We are married now. Have a serious convo and tell him you're ready and the make a plan from there.
