In baby’s nursery: velvet hangers or plastic?

I’ve always used plastic in my first sons room but my mom seems to think velvet would be more ideal?

I use the plastic ones for babys newborn amd 0/3 because the velvet ones seem to stretch the shoulder and sleeve a little but his bigger clothes the velvet.

I'm using ones I got for free from Herbergers when they closed down. So cheap cheap plastic store hangers! Can't beat free, and they do the trick!

Plastic all the way! I bought a ton of velvet ones bc I thought they looked nicer (and the do).... but after I started washing all the clothes and hanging them, it was SO frustrating to hang clothes. They kept getting all hung up on the velvet and wouldnt slide on easily and would stretch the clothes from clinging while I tried to ger them in place. I hung 4 outfits and was like "screw this... this is hard enough without me holding a baby, I sure as heck don't want to do it while holding a newborn". I went out the next day and bought alllllll plastic. I totally understand wanting velvet, but highly recommend against it. I have like 75 brand new velvet hangers that I won't even use now and need to get rid of.

I got some beautiful blue velvet ones off of Amazon very inexpensively. I’m having a girl but I loved the color of the blue ones so much and it provides some contrast against her clothes. So happy with them!

I use both, the plastic ones for everyday clothes and the velvet ones for dressier clothes like his button ups and jackets so they don’t slide off
