IUD causes UTI??

Question

I’ve officially had my second UTI this year. I have an IUD, got it inserted in February. I heard rumors that IUDs increase risk for UTIs, does anyone believe this to be true? Has anyone with an IUD experienced more infections when they got theirs inserted? Regardless, all I know is they’re a pain in the ass. I caught mine early on but goddamn does it burn

I never had a yeast infection, bacterial infection, or UTI before until my IUD. Same with my best friend. So I believe there has to be correlation...

If there is a correlation I would think it’s because there is more unprotected sex due to having an iud as opposed to a direct iud cause like the medication or plastic

They causes an increase risk of causal infection but they aren’t directly linked to UTIs.
