Neither. Tylenol as needed for the really bad ones and teethers you can freeze and give to them.

Throw a damp wash cloth in the freezer, they are very soothing to teethe on! The cold numbs the gums naturally, but anytime a child is in pain I give Tylenol or ibuprofen.

My Dr. said gels you rub on and teething tablets are the two *least* recommended things for teething. Maybe ask your Dr what they think. Cold teethers are good, if that doesn't work then Tylenol (check with your Dr on the dosage), and for my son I massage the back of his neck and head and he finds that soothing. Some people freeze a wet washcloth and give them that to suck on. Teething is no fun, I know :( Good luck!

Not sure where you live and if available but Ashton and parsons teething powders did wonders for one of my children.. Didn't work for the second but Ambesol did xx

Orajel thickens the gums and prolongs the teething process. I would stick to Motrin or the tablets.
