Membrane stripping?

So I have an appt. Wednesday when I’ll be 39 weeks. 
I’m going to ask to see if she will strip my membranes then, but at my 37 and 38 week checkup I was only a centimeter dilated and my cervix was still super high. Can they still strip membranes if your cervix is high? I’m assuming it still will be as I haven’t dropped yet.
My doctors PA is a small lady, and she could barely reach it. 
Edit: she already told me she could do it with how much I’m dilated so I’m not concerned about dilation. Just how high my cervix is.

Yep! I was stripped today and was 2.5cm dilated. He said my cervix is pretty high but did it with no problem!

If they can fit a pinky finger in there, they can strip it. If they can't get a finger in, I'm not sure what they try next. That's what happened to my friend with her two pregnancies. For both her cervix was high and tight. They were able to strip her first pregnancy but not her second. For her second she went into labor naturally at 40+2.

I was stripped at 38 weeks at barely 2cm. I asked if you had to be a certain cm dilated and she said just one cm is all they need to get in. Currently 38+4

They need to be able to get 2 fingers in to do the stretch. She might be able to do a little sweep if you’re 1, but it’s unlikely to do much

Some of them won't strip you until you're 3cm.
